Savings Accounts

A safe option to hold money that is not needed on a daily basis. Funds are held at a bank or other financial institution. Considered one of the most liquid investment accounts for funds. Generally, yield minimal to no interest.

Interest Rate Range – Between 0.01% – 0.06%
Maturity Term – Not Applicable
Risk Level – Very Low
FDIC Insured – up to $250,000
The Catch Maintaining certain balances to avoid maintenance fees and keep significantly low interest. Low interest rates don’t provide much investment growth. Inflation rate is higher than interest rates, causing money to lose value over time.

Certificate of Deposit (CD)

One of the safest investment products available. Issued by banks and credit unions. Similar to a savings account with slightly higher interest rates.

Interest Rate Range – Anywhere from 0.01% – 1.60%
Maturity Term – Anywhere from 3 to 10 years.
Risk Level – Very Low
FDIC Insured – up to $250,000
The Catch Withdrawing the funds before maturity will result in penalties. Typically, several months of interest accrued. Very low interest. Inflation rate is higher than interest rates, causing money to lose value over time.

Money Market

A safe investment option for short periods of time. Similar to regular savings accounts, with the option to write up to 3 checks a month. Investments can be made with the financial assistance of a financial advisor, accountant or banking institution. Attractive because of it’s safety and liquidity. Minimum balances are usually higher than other accounts.

Interest Rate Range – 0.03% – 0.85%
Maturity Term – Between 1 day and 3 months
Risk Level – Very Low

The Catch Rates are variable and may change. Money is not easily accessible. Very low interest. Inflation rate is higher than interest rates, causing money to lose value over time.

Annuities

An tax-deferred, investment option that is meant for long-term planning, specifically retirement. Offers a fixed/variable interest rate for a period of time. Offered through insurance companies who promise to pay a certain amount of money, on a periodic basis, for a specified period of time. Backed by the assets of the insurance company dependent on its credit rating.

Interest Rate – up to 8%
Maturity Term – Long-term
Risk Level – Moderate
FDIC Insured – No
The Catch Withdrawals from annuities prior to age 59½ may be subject to a 10% IRS penalty. Rates are variable and may change. Investor has little to no control over investment.

Bonds (Government and Corporate)

An option in which the investment is borrowed to the government or corporate entity for a period of time at a fixed interest rate. Investments are used to finance various activities or projects. Credit score and investment term determine the bond’s interest rate. Some bonds are secured and others are unsecured.

Interest Rate Range – Contingent upon maturity dates and specific formulas. Avg. Maturity Term – 90 days – 30 years (Governmentissued); 3-10 years (Corporate-issued)

Stock Market (Stocks, Mutual Funds)

One of the most volatile and variable investment options, but also one of the highest yielding at times. The market provides investors with the option to buy stocks in publicly traded companies (and own a percentage of the company). Investing in the Market requires a broker, which can be expensive and cannot not guarantee returns.

The Catch Requires meticulous observation to ensure your not losing money. Volatile and highly variable. Contingent upon many economic factors. Possible loss of capital invested.

Limited Partnership with JPF

Similar to CDs, our option allows investors to invest a minimum of $10,000.00 USD into a LP for a specified period of time at a fixed interest rate. Investments are used to provide private mortgages to real estate investors and are secured by real estate collateral. Issued by privately-owned investment entity, Jakob Pek Fund.
